* Fabric design features blue toned carnations with olive green leaves
* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and full skirt
* Sleeveless chemise bodice with spaghetti straps
* Sleeves and neckline edged in self fabric trim with bows on each strap
* Full gathered skirt with self belt featuring a bow at from and buckle at back
* Unlined, selvage seams and hand sewn hem
* Built in netting underskirt at waist fr fullness and back metal belt

California Cottons
Very little information if available on the history of this label. Research indicates that the label probably originated in the United States but was heavily marketed within in the United Kingdom. During the 1950s and1960s however, the manufacturing was done exclusively in Britain, with the actual design work was outsourced to the United States . The clothing from this label is very eye catching and beautifully detailed. To the extent where California Cottons matches the quality and styling of Horrockses Fashions. While its history may be a little vague, its collectability is not. The label is highly prized today.(Thanks to Liz at Advantage in Vintage)
Condition
Absolutely gorgeous sundress that looks absolutely spotless. Fabric is crisp and vibrant and without fade.
Comment
The details on this dress make it quite special. Should you wish to let the hem down, I am sure it won't leave a mark, as the dress looks hardly worn. Obviously, as these are one- off pieces, the fit may not be quite what you need. To this end, we also offer an alteration service by professional seamstresses. Please shoot us an email outlining what you want and we will quickly respond with a quote and timeframe. Costs are kept to a minimum for this service.
