Jackie Morgan, California was a dress designer who was active during the 1950s - 1960s. He appears to have been quite passionate about dress design and fabrics, as he conducted numerous fashion parades to showcase not only his latest fashions but also gave talks on current fashion trends and dress materials. He was mainly active in the Los Angeles, Pasadena and Long Beach areas, as well as further north in San Rafael, the county seat of wealthy Marin County. Here, he provided exclusive lines to the local, now defunct, department store Luana’s. One of the special features of this label was the wide range of colourful large print floral cotton dresses that it produced during its heyday. These eye-catching, colourful dresses are hugely popular today.

This dress has had a previous life but nevertheless presents beautifully as can be seen. On close inspection, all I can find of note is that there are thin lines of brown glue residue where some of the glitter has worn off but in all honesty they are very thin and blend in with the floral pattern - a very minor flaw in my opinion. Also, a couple of light spots but again nothing to detract from the overall presentation of this beautiful dress. The dress originally had ties to the shoulders that could be added if desired but have since been lost ( had an identical dress previously with the ties in place). I have added some ribbon ties for the photographs that can accompany the dress if desired - I have also taken photographs without the ties to show the various options available.

Shown with a crinoline and ribbon for presentation purposes only.
