* Fabric design features yellow and orange flowers with green leaves
* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and full skirt
* Sleeveless bodice with scooped oval neckline, slightly lower at back
* Very full circle skirt with original orange and yellow tie at waist
* Matching Orlon floral cardigan
* Closed-in side metal zipper, unlined with hand finished hem

Jerry Gilden was a maker of moderately-priced women’s ready-to-wear from the mid 1940s through to the 1960s. The company was one of the top five producers of women’s dresses in the United States. At the peak of production, the label was producing over a million garments a year.
The in-house costume designer, Giselle, was responsible for designing the dresses and separates that made the Gilden name famous. After her death in 1952, Gilden took as his partners Sayde and Abe Weinberg, with Sayde becoming the designer of the Jerry Gilden lines. The firm ceased production in 1960. Because of their construction and styling, the label is keenly sought after by today's vintage fashion collectors and lovers.
Condition
This wonderful dress set is in excellent condition for its age. No notable flaws that I can see. In fact, it appear old store stock and never worn. Such a desirable and sought after set in the very best state of preservation. Cleaned and ready to wear. Please drop us a line if your require additional information about this listing.
