Description
* 1930s chocolate brown silk velvet gown
* Classic silhouette with a fitted waist and long, slightly draped skirt
* Bodice has long balloon sleeves that narrow considerably at the wrist.
* Contrasting cream gelatin aurora borealis sequined mesh trim attached to the neckline and shoulders with huge bow at centre front
* Bias cut that emphasizes the figure and flares out at hem with a mini tail
* Diamond shape seams at lower centre front
* Side press stud closure
* Plunging back with rows of trim edging
* Unlabelled but looks commercially made
Condition
Great vintage condition.
Considering its age it is in amazing condition, the only issue I could find is that there is some seating to the velvet but really not noticeable when wearing. The seating is mostly in thin lines, that look like scratches but the pile springs back up when you brush it, so it's not missing. A couple of eraser head scratches, hardly noticeable. All in all, this gown is a knockout!

We make every effort to post your item within 1-3 days of payment. Should a circumstance arise where we are unable to post within this timeframe (eg we are away at a fair) we will contact you immediately. Obviously, as these are one-off pieces, the fit may not be quite what you need. To this end, we also offer an alteration service by professional seamstresses. Please shoot us an email outlining what you want and we will quickly respond with a quote and timeframe. Costs are kept to a minimum for this service.
