Description

* Lovely crisp black cotton 1950s dress

* Medallion print in pinks, greens, blues and accented with gold paint

* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and full skirt

* Sleeveless bodice with gathered bust, sweetheart neckline and wide straps

* Working back metal zipper 

* Label reads "Jerry Parnis"

 Jerry Parnis was the sister of  Mollie Parnis -.a well know designer who gained popularity through her conservative, feminine, flattering designs, that were available in department stores across the United States.  While not as well known as Mollie, Jerry was just as talented.  Her favourite fabric to work with was cotton, which she used for both day and evening dresses.  This dress is a superb example.

This dress is in excellent vintage condition for its age - free from notable rips, stains, fading or holes. Slightest bit of underarm dusting, hardly noticeable. It presents beautifully. Crinoline for demonstration purposes only.
