Description
* Rare to find three piece 1940s cotton knit ensemble
* Background is smokey blue in colour with large rainbow striped
* Stripes are in indigo blue, terracotta, lemon, purple and ecru
* Cotton is a nobbly knit
* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and undulating skirt
* Short sleeved, ribbed top with rounded neckline in matching blue,
* This top has decorative contrasting strips at intervals
* Long sleeved ribbed top has a v shape with rainbow stripes on the neckline
* A gold metallic Deco stripe also accents the top
* Skirt has a threaded through elastic band and two rows
Condition
I can't tell you how rare it is to find a three piece 1940s set, especially one as striking as this one. This gorgeous ensemble is in excellent condition for its age. No notable flaws that I can see, the elastic is a little relaxed but functions adequately. The cotton knit allows for some stretch so you can easily add another couple of inches to the measurements provided. Cleaned and ready to wear.
