Description
* Striking 1950s golden chiffon party dress
* Fabric design features painted cascading garlands of rosed in gold and white
* Classic silhouette with cinched waist and full skirt
* Sleeveless bodice with square neckline
* Bodice has gold satin binding along neckline
* Matching gold satin ribbon at waist front and back with a central bow
* Very full gathered skirt
* Attached tulle ruffled petticoat along with pale gold satin lining
* Hand-finished hem and back metal zipper
* No label but professionally made
Condition
This dress is in excellent condition for its age. Just a couple of things to point out.
Firstly, there is a slit in the back of the dress at the hemline. It's about 3/4 inch (2 cm) in length and could easily be fused together, sewn or left as is - as it is hardly noticeable. I have included a photo so you can see. This may have been the reason the dress hem was shortened at one point or it possibly could have occurred at the same time. Faint crease remains but it should be completely eliminated in subsequent washing. The central bow need a stitch. All minor but priced accordingly.
Please note that these are vintage items that have been used and loved over the years, As such, they may display slight evidence of their age. Any notable flaws will be highlighted.
