* Late 1970s crepe fabric designer dress

* Fabric design features tangerine and vanilla large-format flowers

* Classic silhouette with a slightly dropped waist and a generously wide skirt

* Rounded neckline with shirt front opening

* Button closure to waist, then small open placket (unseen)

*Long inset sleeves with cuffs

* Bodice and cuffs are fastened with self-fabric buttons

* Skirt has deep knife pleating for fullness

* Wide sash belt of the same fabric which can be styled in different ways

* Lined in white acetate

* Hand finishing to hem, neckline and other areas typical of a designer product

* Label reads Christian Dior Prêt A Porter

Dior's Prêt A Porter collection was launched in 1967 by Philippe Guibourgé, the assistant of Marc Bohan the then head designer of the overall brand. This collection, albeit high-end, was less expensive than the couture lines and aimed at a wider market. The designs of this period were inspired by the expressionist movement and resulted in a more modern but equally elegant silhouette with simple cuts - this trend would shape the house's image for the next 30 years.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition.

No notable flaws that I can see. - a spot near the waist but this is completely covered by the sash belt. The hip measurements are restricted by the attached slip but could be opened to allow additional room. The overskirt is a free size at this area.

Please note that these are vintage items that have been used and loved over the years, As such, they may display slight evidence of their age. Any notable flaws will be highlighted.

We now offer an alternate express delivery service via DHL for those of you who want your packages more expediently. This option is currently delivering packages within a seven-day timeframe from pick-up.

Postage
We make every effort to post your item within 1-3 days of payment. Should a circumstance arise where we are unable to post within this timeframe (eg we are away at a fair) we will contact you immediately. Please note that our postage charges are based on standard international and domestic air packages - all with tracking. If you want to upgrade to express postage or require insurance, please contact us prior to checkout and we will adjust the rates accordingly.

Availability

LayBys/Layaways

Obviously, as these are one-off pieces, the fit may not be quite what you need. To this end, we also offer an alteration service by professional seamstresses. Please shoot us an email outlining what you want and we will quickly respond with a quote and timeframe. Costs are kept to a minimum for this service.
