Enid Collins of Texas started her first shop in 1959. after graduating in fashion design. Her products featured local motifs such as horses, flora and Mexican themes, as well as a famous series featuring Zodiac signs. As her business grew she expanded her themes to incorporate French and hometown American scenes, as well as major themes of the 1960s. movements from the era of the 60's. She did hundreds of designs of these purses in a canvas tote style, a bucket style, and wood box purses. All her products were expertly designed and bedecked with jewels, charms, & beads.
The handbag is in pristine condition and appears to have never been used, no missing jewels or any wear that I can see - remarkable for a bag almost sixty years of age. A rare, very collectable and beautifully presented handbag.
